The Noosaville Library at Wallace Park Noosaville is hosting an exhibition showing how urban gardeners can help protect Noosa’s most valuable asset: its natural environment.

The exhibition promotes the Urban Wildlife Gardens program, funded by Noosa Council and managed by the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association. The program has been running for 12 months and so far more than 80 Noosa gardens have become involved.

Urban gardeners in Noosa are encouraged to use local native plants to create a welcoming habitat for the wildlife of the area.

The Library exhibition includes a slideshow of local gardens with landscaping ideas from the gardens of Cheryl Bean, Stephanie Haslam, Moira Maclachlan, Michele Knightley, Robert Price and Shaun Walsh.

Stunning artwork has been contributed by Suzanne Bloomfield, Fiona Groom, Stephanie Haslam, Michele Knightley and Dale Leach. There are photographs of visiting wildlife by Joan Heavey and a cabinet displaying garden treasures.

The Library exhibition runs until 5 October. Visit the Library and go to www.noosariver.com.au/urban-wildlife-gardens to see how your garden can enhance Noosa’s natural environment.
