The story of how since 2000 Noosa Council has been paying for free holiday buses and then - after extensive work, expense, public consultation and approval of a comprehensive strategy to address traffic, parking and transport issues - the Council continues to mainly offer free buses.
Cooran Earth Rights are calling on Noosa Council to fast track planning for a proposed new bicycle path between Cooran and Pomona or risk losing an opportunity for a substantial portion of its cost being met by a state government funding program designed to increase the uptake of bicycle riding for commuting and recreation.
Cycling as a means of transport in Noosa is fun. We have some wonderful bike lanes. Unfortunately there are big gaps and missing links. Noosa residents are being invited to collaborate on a grassroots project to help make cycling the number one choice of transport for Noosa residents.
There's no doubt that Noosa has excellent bikeways - connecting the missing links will make cycling the preferred option in our daily commutes. Let us know where your local biking and walking gaps are and the dodgy spots that prevent you from letting your kids ride safely to school.
